Dream Team NBA Captain Options – Week 10

By
Updated: December 20, 2021

Well if Week 8 was carnage, then Week 9 was an absolute catastrophe with key players missing left, right and centre.  Also, unfortunately, for the first time, we saw a couple of game postponements, with more again this week.  As it stands, there are 2 games already postponed for this week’s upcoming schedule with the Magic/Raptors and Wizards/Nets games and I dare say we will see more as we see numerous players entering health and safety protocols.  Stay well clear of any players from the Nets and Magic as their squads are absolutely decimated and will likely see more games postponed.  The Nets also play the Blazers and Lakers (who have enough of their own roster issues), whilst the Magic play the Hawks, Pelicans and Heat.  So good luck trying to finalise your squads without any players missing.  Have a look at your injury lists and possibly Twitter for the latest updates.  I follow twitter.com/FantasyLabsNBA who tend to keep me informed.

Nikola Jokic was the best of the bunch this past week, even with just the 3 games, he racked up an impressive 128 fantasy points, with only 6 other players reaching the tonne.  Week 10 will just be about maximising the number of players you can get, only the 1 team has 4 games this week in OKC, which tends to not offer us many fantasy relevant players outside of Josh Giddey due to their ever changing rotations.

Other key players who are likely to miss time this week- Giannis, AD, Embiid, Luka, Trey Young, Jarrett Allen and Evan Mobley.

Captaincy Considerations

Can we find some reliable captaincy options this week, it will be tough, but here are the best of the bunch who might play enough games

  • Rudy Gobert is an option this week, the Jazz are one of the few teams not particularly affected by covid or injuries.  They have 3 games all at home, so with no travel, there is less chance of players having to enter health protocols.  The opponents of the Hornets, Wolves and Mavs don’t offer much resistance

  • Domantas Sabonis appears to have got through is form slump with a few solid weeks in a row now, the Pacers too don’t have many players out currently and should see a score of close to 90 this week from his 3 games

  • Steph Curry returns to the Bay after a big east coast road trip and he should play all 3 games this week.  His form has cooled a little, but we know Chef can turn it on pretty quickly when required

  • Nikola Jokic again will be a popular choice.   The Nuggets should be well rested with 5 days off, games against the Thunder, Hornets and Clippers won’t slow him down.  Its just a matter of how much over a 100 he’ll score

  • Jayson Tatum had a pretty good outing this past week notching up 95 fantasy points in just 3 games, so that gets him shortlisted this week with our choices so limited

Will’s Captain – Nikola Jokic

Hard to argue any other case but.  Giannis isn’t confirmed as available yet and no one else is close to touching the Joker
