Dos’s Stat Sheet Stuffers Week 13

Dos is back again to provide us some info for all our Captain decisions in Week 13.

Teams are getting to the point where the right Captain choice will see you shoot up the rankings. The Greak Freak has been in form this past couple of weeks, and with another four game slate, a lot of coaches will look to him to see a good score put on the board.

LOCK ‘EM IN:

FREAKIN AWESOME

Giannis Antetokounmpo once again did not let us down as the #1 captain option last week, filling up the box scores to give us a monstrous 152 NBA Fantasy points from his four games.

The Greek Freak has another four-game schedule this week, and will once again repay the faith when we chuck the ‘C’ on him.

It was revealed last week that Antetokounmpo edged out LeBron James for top spot in the first return of fan votes for the NBA All-Star game to be played Las Angeles in February.

This year, the leading vote-getter of the fan vote from the Eastern and Western conference will become the captain & get to choose their team from a pool of players, in a school-yard style pick-em.

Nevertheless, it’s Giannis who we will be picking this week to once again don the #1 mantle on my stat-sheet stuffer captain options.

BACK TO UNI…BROW

It’s easy to forget just how good the Brow has been this year.

Sometimes overshadowed by his stat-packing, foul-committing running mate; Anthony Davis has had a tremendous, efficient season in New Orleans.

Currently only trailing LBJ and Antetounmpo as the 3rd highest scorer by average per game in NBA Fantasy, Davis is putting up 25.6 points, 10.3 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks on 55.3% shooting – good for 33.7 Fantasy points a night.

Aside from a quiet display against Minnesota, the 24 year-old has been putting up his usual stellar numbers, while embarrassing any opponent who gets in his way:

DeMarcus cousins is a similarly enticing option this week, as the Pelicans’ Twin Towers enjoy a four game stretch.

Boogie has been a force on both ends of the floor this season, putting up huge counting stats, but his high turnover rate (currently at 4.9 a game) and tendency to foul (leading the NBA at 3.7 fouls per game), means his 33.2 NBA Fantasy average is just slightly shy of his front court buddy’s.

FIRST NAME STEPHEN, LAST NAME CURRY

And so the tag-team continues…

While Kevin Durant showed us his 2013-14 MVP form while Stephen Curry was out with an ankle injury, Curry returned the favour in Durant’s absence, with an insane 45-point outburst against the Las Angeles Clippers…in 3 quarters.

The two-time MVP has been on another level since returning from injury, averaging 36 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, on 58% shooting in his four games back.

While any of the Warriors starting 5 are susceptible to a rest at any point in time, it’s hard not the ride the hot hand of Curry, who’s burning his sweet stroke through more rings than a vindaloo.

And the 29-year-old Curry doesn’t look like cooling off any time soon, despite his new water commercial…

The Warriors play four games against some solid opposition this week in the Nuggets, Clippers, Bucks and Raptors, meaning the starters might actually play significant minutes to earn some big W’s… just don’t bank on Steve Kerr sharing the same sentiment.

RAP STAR

Toronto Raptor, DeMar DeRozan, fresh off a monster Month of December, is continuing the trend into January.

Averaging a massive 36 points, 4 rebounds, 6 assists in his 3 January games, DeRozan has hit the new year in full swing.

DeRozan has finally capitalised on the 3-point shot this season, making a career-high 1.2 per game on an also career-best 37%, showing off his new dino-amic range:

Already considered by some as the greatest Toronto Raptor of all time, DeRozan continues to build his resume as he leads the rampaging Raptors, who currently trail only the Celtics in the Eastern Conference standings.

UNIQUE 4-GAME OPTIONS:

Victor Olidipo – returned from injury for a massive 23-6-9 stat-line, to go with FIVE steals…all in 24 minutes action. GUN.

Jimmy Butler- back to being one of the best 2-way players in the game, while putting up respectable numbers in the shadow of fellow fantasy stud teammate KAT.

Nikola Jokic- big man has been struggling to get points on the board averaging only 10 points on 34% shooting to start January, but remains a great all-around stat stuffer averaging 8.7 rebounds, 7.3 assists and a steal a night in the same span.
