Dos’s Stat Sheet Stuffers Week 12!

Updated: January 2, 2018

Happy New Year NBA Fantasy nuts!

For those going back to the daily grind on Tuesday, here’s hoping you can return as sprightly as Steph Curry did on Sunday…

Regardless of when your return to action is, it’s time to sit back and relax with those New Years hangovers, while I once again do the dirty work for the Week 12 captain options!

Horrendous, massive stretch of a pun attempt aside… Karl-Anthony Towns is going to be a force once again this week.

Fresh off a 139 NBA Fantasy points for week 11 at an average of 34.75, Towns will enjoy yet another 4 games in week 12 & 13 (you can check out Archie’s full schedule analysis here).

Hoarse-voiced coach Tom Thibodeau will give Towns, and on-fire teammate, Jimmy Butler, plenty of minutes as per usual.

Butler took a little time to adjust to life back with coach Thibs, but has had an enormous month of December averaging 26.5 points, 5.4 rebounds, 5.3 assists, with 1.8 steals a night and only 1.5 turnovers.

These two T-Wolves stars should be high on your trade-in target lists, and are worthy of wearing the captaincy this week.

As we get further into the season some patterns emerge…like, you know, Giannis Antetokounmpo being a captain option every single time he has the four-game schedule.

It is a fact of NBA life in 2017…I mean 2018, that the Greek Freak is one of the best the game of basketball has to offer.

Not only is he making out-of-this-world plays on a night to night basis:

He is an NBA Fantasy BEAST.

Giannis is currently only trailing LeBron James (who has the three-game schedule this week), in NBA Fantasy ppg, with a 36.3 avg.

While he’s putting up MVP-calibre numbers, it makes my job of choosing a number 1 option that much easier.

Kristaps Porzingis; Next 4: SAS, @WAS, @MIA, @DAL.

The Zinga has been on a tear of late, particularly in the block department where he has averaged 3.4 blocks a game in his last 5 outings.

Kristaps has grown to accept the lofty expectations placed on him, and believes the rest of us should accept that Kristaps Porzingis – Superstar, is the real deal.

LaMarcus Aldridge; Next 4: @NYK, @PHI, PHX, @POR.

Kawhi Leonard played a season-high 28 minutes in a recent loss to Detroit, and as the 2014 Finals MVP works his way back into fitness, the NBA Fantasy relevance of LaMarcus Aldridge is up in the air.

In six games playing alongside Leonard this season, Aldridge is averaging 17.33 points, 10.6 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 0.8 blocks on just 41% shooting.

Compared to Aldridge’s season stats of 22/8.4/2/1.1/49% with those same splits, it appears the presence of another alpha dog may affect Aldridge’s numbers until the two can learn to coexist.

Damien Lillard; Next 4: @CHI, @CLE, ATL, SAS.

Lillard has missed the last 4 games with a hamstring injury, and will be a game-time decision for Portland’s first match in week 12 against the Bulls.

Should Lillard play he should put up some solid numbers with his 24.7 NBA Fantasy point average.

Without having the certainty of Lillard playing, it’s too risky to wack the ‘C’ on him, but could be a solid unique player should he suit up this week.

LeBron James; Next 3: POR, @BOS, @ORL.

A big Happy Birthday to The King, who just celebrated his 33rd birthday.

Even at 33, James is an absolute force, and proving once again he is the best player in the league.

His 36.4 NBA Fantasy average has him at number 1 for the season, which means we can safely include him in the captain options despite his 3 game schedule this week.

Oh yeah, and he’s got Lil B’s blessing…

Russell Westbrook; Next 3: LAL, @LAC, @PHX.

Westbrook has hit beast mode in December averaging 27.8 points, 10.2 rebounds, 10.6 assists, 1.8 steals, while shooting an improved 44.8% from the field.

The Lakers & Suns are two of the 3 opponents for the Thunder this week which means one thing for Westbrook…FAT STATS.

He’s simply on fire and can be seriously considered on a week-to-week basis.

James Harden; INJURED.

Harden tweaked his hamstring in a double overtime win against the Lakers… but not before he dropped a nasty 40 points on them to go with 11 dimes.

While Harden appears optimistic on the hammy tweak, it’s likely the Rockets star will miss some time.

Dos’s Top 5 Stat-Sheet Stuffers

  1. Giannis Antetokounmpo

  2. Karl-Anthony Towns

  3. Jimmy Butler

  4. Russell Westbrook

  5. LeBron James
