QLD Maroons Squad Game 3 – Fantasy Fallout

Updated: July 4, 2016

Kevin Walter’s QLD Maroons have made two forced changes ahead of game three in Sydney.

Having wrapped up the series at Suncorp last month, Cowboys five-eighth Michael Morgan (knee) and Josh Papalii (hip) are the only unavailable players.

Maroons stalwart Nate Myles will return from injury, while Cowboys edge backrower Gavin Cooper will make his debut off the bench. In-form Sharks fullback Ben Barba and Manly halfback Daly Cherry-Evans have been overlooked for the bench utility role with Walters selecting four forwards on the bench.

Origin game three will take place in Sydney on Wednesday, 13th July.

Fantasy Fallout

The Maroons boast just five players that will miss club games 18. North Queensland’s four, plus the injury to Michael Morgan and James Tamou’s Blues selection will decimate the Cowboys. This will likely affect the likes of popular buys Ethan Lowe and Jake Granville. The Raiders could be in for an attacking raid at home in Canberra next Monday night.

Aidan Guerra’s absence for the Roosters will likely see goal kicking forward Sio Siua Taukeiaho receive a greater opportunity. Utility forward Mitchell Aubusson will garner more game-time also.

Popular buys Corey Parker and Johnathan Thurston are back on the cards following Origin in round 19 and 20 respectively.
