NRL Fantasy: Stay true to your strategy!

We’re midway through round 1 and already there have been some upsets and huge injuries.

Guys who are usually fantasy guns have put up terrible numbers or just scraped in and worse still a couple have gone down in a big way!

The rage is building as the end of the round approaches and you’re already planning how you’re going to bring Fensom in, drop Michael Godron or even upgrade Ben Henry to Chris Lawrence.

STOP!

Just breathe, in…and…out…

It’s round 1!

You picked your round 1 squad with a season-long strategy in mind – whether it be forward heavy, cows with guns or a balanced approach – you had a strategy in mind!

Now is not the time to abandon that strategy. Yes you will possibly need to make some trades but make those trades inline with your strategy. You set a side based on that strategy and changing it up now will almost all but ensure your season is destined for failure.

James Segeyaro, out with a broken wrist, he’s likely to drop $15,000-$20,000 in price, if your strategy is “Cows with Guns” it might be time (if Seggy is out for an extended period) to drop Seggy to a cash cow and upgrade another cow to a gun.

If your strategy is forward heavy, then trading Seggy to Peats or another big minute, big scoring hooker is the go.

Lichaa is also under an injury cloud, headed for scans Monday.

As for getting Fensom in, you could, but does it fit your strategy and are you chasing last weeks points?

Before trading, take a few deep breaths and consider your original strategy.
